We are always interested in talking to tutors with experience in teaching adults, particularly in the following areas:

  • Community Outreach  – confidence building / employability skills / basic IT for jobseekers
  • Family Learning – helping parents gain confidence in their English and maths skills and supporting parents with early years development
  • ALDD – working with learners with learning difficulties and disabilities

Do you have an adult teaching qualification or are you a qualified teacher? We can support you to gain an introductory qualification if not.

Courses are held in community venues and adult learning centres throughout Buckinghamshire and sessions are usually 2 hours per week.

Successful applicants will join a “pool” of tutors who are allocated work according to demand. These are sessional tutor positions but fractional tutor posts may be available for the right candidates.

Fractional English Tutor

  • Working hours: Part Time
  • Salary: £18.18 to £28.82 per hour
  • Closing date: 23rd May 2019
    We are seeking a permanent part-time term time only (3 days a week, including 1 evening a week) Fractional English Tutor to work in a vibrant, expanding area of the Skills Team in Aylesbury and High Wycombe. The successful candidate will support adult learners, whose first language is English, (Entry 1 to Level 2) to improve their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills for work and/or home. You will be teaching in a variety of classes across High Wycombe and The Chilterns. You will report to a Course Co-ordinator and will be required to carry out other tasks to support the team and sessional tutors in your area.
