For Volunteers & Community Organisations

Volunteers & Community Organisations

To help build community engagement and capacity, we are able to offer bespoke classes to help people volunteer for your organisation.

Examples of courses we have run include:

• ‘Understanding Addiction and Addictive behaviour’ and ‘Motivational Interviewing’ – volunteers working with adults with drug and alcohol addiction
• ‘Common Mental Health Issues and Interventions’ – Bucks Mind volunteers in High Wycombe, Aylesbury Homeless Action Group volunteers
• ‘Organising and Running a Community Craft course’ – Movers and Shakers volunteers in Aylesbury

During 2016-17, Buckinghamshire Adult Learning would like to offer four bursaries to Community and Voluntary Sector organisations to fund learners on our C&G Award in Education and Training, formerly known as PTTLS. This is an introductory teaching qualification which prepares you to teach or train adults in adult and community learning, further education, the voluntary sector or the private sector.

For more information on regarding the bursary scheme, please contact Christine Frost, Regional Coordinator (Outreach) cfrost@buckscc.gov.uk
