Art
Search for art courses
There is a wide range of courses at different levels and using different media. Many groups cater for learners at mixed levels - you always work at your own pace with support from the tutor. Learners enjoy the stimulation and challenge of seeing their work improve, and are frequently amazed at what they can achieve.
Our art classes include drawing, painting and watercolour.
Crafts
Search for craft courses
Our craft tutors are all specialists in their own subject and are enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge and inspiring learners to acquire new skills. The quality of work produced by learners, even in a short time, is very high.
Some of the crafts you can learn with us include jewellery making and stained glass. We have a number of courses where you can complete your project in one day.
Pottery
Search for pottery courses
Classes take place in specialist art or craft rooms with wheels and kiln available on site. You will be able to learn pottery from basic hand build techniques through to throwing and producing advanced pieces of work. The cost of clay is included in the course fees.
Textiles
Search for textitles courses
Classes are usually small so that there is enough space to cut out and work on various projects. You will need to provide all your own materials (the tutor will advise). Equipment is available in the craft rooms, but you will need to buy your own if you decide to carry on with your textile work at home.
Annual Creative Studies exhibition
Every year in June we hold this exhibition of our learners' and tutors' work. This event takes place at the Stokenchurch Adult Learning Centre and is getting increasingly popular with learners and the general public alike. It gives our learners the opportunity to showcase their work and get inspired by other students. Artworks include pieces from across our art, crafts, textiles and pottery classes.
For pictures of the latest exhibition please go to our online Art Gallery pages.
Music and dance

Dance is an excellent and enjoyable way of keeping fit while having fun. You will be able to learn the steps and routines needed to make the most of your chosen type of dance. We offer Flamenco and salsa.
There are some specialist courses on which you can learn a musical instrument (which you need to suply yourself). The most popular of these currently is guitar, where you can choose from a range of levels to suit your own starting point. Other instrument courses and styles on offer include keyboards, saxophone and singing.
